About the Company
Phoenix-based O-So Pure, Inc. manufactures and distributes ultraviolet water purification systems and accessories for use in the dental industry.
CHALLENGE
Water purification system manufacturer O-So Pure (OSP) had long outgrown its existing ERP system and was plagued by the inefficient, outdated processes it had in place to handle accounting, inventory, manufacturing and e-commerce. In order to meet corporate growth and sales objectives, it was critical that OSP have the ability to access and share information among corporate users, as well as the capability to support its emerging business-to-consumer business model.
OSP had a list of requirements for its new ERP solution:
• Comprehensive, reliable functionality
• Low TCO
• Minimal IT support
• Elimination of inefficient business processes (“silos”)
• Secure, flexible, and rapid deployment
• Scalable
SOLUTION
OSP’s CEO leveraged his nearly 30 years of IT experience to evaluate several ERP systems, including QuickBooks for Manufacturing, SAP and NetSuite. The company selected Compiere Cloud Edition, the first enterprise-class ERP solution on Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud. OSP selected Compiere based on its low cost, robust functionality, flexibility and advanced open source technology. Compiere’s longevity, existing documentation and the breadth of the company’s development community were also key factors in OSP’s buying decision.
Benefits & Results
With the support of Compiere partner, Levementum, OSP was able to quickly configure and deploy Compiere Cloud Edition. Levementum is providing training, configuration and 24/7 support of Compiere Cloud Edition, and is currently working with OSP to determine what enhancements might be needed as the company grows and evolves. Compiere Cloud Edition will enable OSP to integrate its accounting, inventory, manufacturing and CRM processes. These long-term benefits will allow OSP to focus on streamlining core revenue generating business processes, such as sales and accurate, on-time delivery of products to customers.
OSP’s CEO anticipates a significant reduction in data entry time and errors, along with enhanced operational performance across the organization due to the deployment of Compiere Cloud Edition’s comprehensive, modern, adaptable and low-cost solution built on an open source platform. Financially, he expects the company will realize significant cost savings amounting to tens of thousands of dollars resulting from improved productivity, as well as a notably lower total cost of ownership when combining open source and Cloud computing as opposed to traditional, proprietary ERP software.
