About The Company
Since 1926, Parker Products, Inc. has been specializing in high quality ingredients for the baking and dairy industries. They pride themselves in their ability to provide their customers with unique, custom products. This confection company is privately owned and located in Fort Worth, Texas
The Situation
With an annual growth rate of 15-20% per year, Parker’s previous software, Peachtree, could no longer meet the demands of the growing company. In addition, the software for manufacturing, accounting, and contact management was not integrated. Parker specifically needed software that would:
• Support their primary business needs of integrated manufacturing
planning with inventory
• Provide quality control for both manufacturing and inventory;
• Track costs for manufactured items;
• Increase visibility of inventory availability so informed customer
commitments could be made.
Parker also needed software that was E-Commerce capable. With today’s high percentage of shoppers purchasing on-line, they understood that this would be a substantial factor in maintaining their annual business growth. Lastly, Parker was also looking for software that was modifiable and supported by its vendor.

Purchasing
Parker struggled with ordering manufacturing goods in a timely fashion. The shelf life of many raw materials was a concern. With ProcessPro® software’s Material Requirements Planning (MRP), all of Parker’s raw materials, packaging materials and equipment are ordered automatically at the right time and in the right quantities.
Simplification of Lot Numbers
With two warehouse locations and the need to quarantine certain raw materials, Parker’s paper method of tracking lot numbers was inefficient and difficult to maintain. Parker Products was thrilled to be able to eliminate all paper lot tracking with ProcessPro® software. They are also able to utilize the stores/bin feature to support their quarantine requirements.
Production Efficiency
Parker Products needed a hands-on approach to monitoring production. ProcessPro® software provides Parker with the ability to direct labor hours. This gives them clear-cut average cost accuracy.
Order Entry
The cumbersome, multistep paper format method of order entry they used was time consuming and, at times, inaccurate. Not only does ProcessPro® software generate, schedule, and maintain sales orders, it also creates invoices when linked to Accounts Receivable. Most importantly, Order Entry is directly integrated with manufacturing, providing cross-reference tables for customer requirements, a robust pricing system, and a simple two-step billing process.
Inventory Control
Parker was burdened with monthly physical inventories, annual book value inventories, and daily inventory review prior to releasing any work orders.
