The Company: About IOC Construction

IOC Construction, is a general contractor serving the Greater Chicago and Milwaukee areas. IOC has spent 30 years growing from a small handyman and painting company into a full-service commercial builder. Along the way, they added roofing and siding companies plus a corporate entity to oversee them. 

The Situation: Unreconciled Systems

Over 30 years, IOC layered roofing, siding, and corporate entities onto its original handyman and painting business, ending up with four QuickBooks entities that didn’t communicate. Salesforce was used to pull it all together, but because the systems never reconciled, the numbers were unreliable. ​“There were six of us who daily entered data into all platforms,” says Jessica Hill, ERP Manager. ​“Hardly anything ever matched.”

With roughly 150 active projects at a time, IOC managed jobs in manila folders, and unreconcilable receipts piled up in paper files. Some expenses were never job costed, leaving leadership unsure whether project profitability figures were accurate.
